Zephyr Mountain « Thread Started on Feb 19, 2007, 8:53pm »
::God and Satan have been dispelled from my body...thus causing any power that is exerted from me, to be of my own volition. My power is far greater than many of the warriors that once dwelled the Earth, and even moreso than some that still do. Just knowing that this power....is fueled solely by me...gives me such reason to believe that I am somewhat of a deity. Whilst just gaining these powers...I remember feeling this way..however now...I cannot fail..for I am stronger..wiser. The way I see it, there are only a few who are stronger than me...I am one of the most powerful beings to ever live..there are many who fear me...and others who have befriended me...I feel accomplished..yet...with all of this surrounding me..why do I feel so empty?
1???: " He hasn't learned...I feared this would happen."
2???: " We must balance him out once more, such as his friend Twilight did before."
1???: " Yes, however this time it will not be a matter of a fight..but...of physical endurance."
2???: " Sounds interesting..what do you have in mind?"
1???: " I was thinking...yes...the mountain.."
2???: " The mountain of Zephyr? Are you crazy? He can't scale that!"
1???: " I don't expect him to scale it..I expect him to at least try however."
2???: " He'll die! You do know this.."
1???: " That's a chance I'm willing to take, any measures can and will be taken to see that he's balanced out."
2???: " I'm sure there's another way..I have an idea of what he could need..and it isn't Zephyr Mountain.."
1???: " We will put him through this..there is no other hope for him..you must realize this."
2???: " Fine...but I think we're going a bit far here.."
1???: " Maybe so...but he needs this...we're doing it for his own good...it shall start tomorrow."
2???: " Why can't we go back a few years...then I could've truly helped him.."
::The sole ruler of the Underworld slumbered, for he dozed off due to boredom, boredom which was caused by his belief that he couldn't be stopped. He held his head with his hand and leaned on an arm rest on his throne, he hadn't been sleeping long, for he was thinking of what to do with his power, maybe revert to his old ways, surely he had been blinded by power once more. However his sleep would be cut short, because an eerie draft could be felt throughout the cavern, which caused him to jump up, startled and looking around, he then rubbed his eyes and removed his hands to see what appeared to be a ghost like figure in front of him, he looked a bit closer and realized it was actually there.
Kel: " Who the h.."
::The ghost cut him off by maneuvering his arm forward.
Ghost: " Kelranox...you haven't learned a thing...you have failed to balance yourself out...you cannot always count on others to help you. Which is why I come to you with this challenge...this test."
::Kel looked very puzzled, he realized the ghost was truly there, so he wouldn't dwell on thoughts or probabilities that it may be an illusion or a dream.
Kel: " A test? What're you talking about? Like a fight? Give me anyone."
Ghost: " Not a fight...you've been blinded by rage enough as it is...it's time you were cooled down...by something of which you've never faced before...you must scale...Zephyr Mountain."
::Kel laughed hysterically, so much that he almost fell out of his throne.
Kel: " You want me to scale a mountain? Alright, time me, and if I'm not back in five seconds you can keep my living quarters as a bedroom."
Ghost: " Haha, with your rifts and whatnot...I suppose it would be easy..however you will be without such powers this time...for the higher you scale...the more your powers will be limited."
Kel: " And who's saying that I HAVE to do this?"
Ghost: " You will scale this mountain...or you will be relieved of your powers indefinitely."
Kel: " Wh...you bastard..this hardly seems fair on my part!"
Ghost: " What isn't fair..is how you are treating your new powers..you are acting as a God, and that is of course what you are not, you've hardly deserved what you have now."
Kel: " Don't act like you know me! Hardly anyone does!"
Ghost: " Well, let's see if YOU know yourself, for today the climb begins, prepare yourself Kelranox..it will be something that you have never experienced before."
::With saying that, the ghost disappeared and Kel sat on his throne dumbfounded, he sat back and closed his eyes.
Kel: " A mountain...mount. Zephyr...either I climb it...or my powers are gone....this...just....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!"
::Whilst yelling at the top of his lungs, he grabbed his hair with one hand and in the other he slammed the left arm rest of his throne, causing the steel to break off. He wasn't sure if he would be ready, but he knew this would be one of his greatest challenges ever.

"It's one hell of a mountain."
The silence of Kelranox's realm was broken, as footsteps made their way through the tunnelled entrance and towards the main hall where the throne would be located. Of course, the host would have been aware of the presence of the person, recognising the voice as soon as he heard it. Medy Gray's piercing red eyes would break the darkness of the tunnel as he then emerged into the light where he could be seen. He had a stern expression about him, suggesting that he was here not for pleasure, but instead for business. His general character implied that he had more bad news for the demon.
"Twilight over-heard the discussion, there's nothing he can do to bargain a way out of it. You're going to have to scale that mountain."
He crossed his arms as he looked dead at Kelranox, questioning how he intended to go about this task. They both knew how serious this matter was. With a powerless ruler of the Underworld, there was sure to be an uprising to overthrow the rule. The higher beings of the planet couldn't afford this to happen, which was related to Medy's presence in Kelranox's realm. Shuffling his feet slightly, he waited for a reply from his old partner, the other half of what used to be a devastating duo that caused the world so much fear. Clearing his throat, he spoke again.

Kel noted Medys appearance, he stood up and looked him dead in the eyes, realizing the seriousness of the situation, he knew he'd have to face the mountain, he hadn't even see it yet, and he understood that it's size would be massive.
Kel " I must scale it..I have to..and apparently without any help...if only...nevermind..I needn't dwell on those possibilities...it's in the past..plus I doubt you'd wanna hear it, just tell Twi that I'm going to scale it...or I'm going to die trying.."
Kel shook his head and then turned around, facing the exit of the cavern, he then started to walk toward it, and noticed Cerby walking up to him nudging him slightly, his size caused Kel to be lifted off his feet. Kel then patted Cerby on the nose, reassuring him that he was ok.

Nodding his head slowly, Medy remained where he was stood as the ruler of the Underworld rose from his throne. Turning to watch him as he walked, he was in thought about what Kelranox would have ahead of him. He would offer as much information about the mountain as he could, Twilight had informed him of what was needed to know. With the Guardian watching over from his own throne way up in the realm, he would be fully instructed of what was going to happen from here on in. Walking forward towards Kelranox and Cerberus, Medy offered the intelligence.
"Twilight's given me some information that he's managed to squeeze out of the spirits whilst he attempted to bargain with them. There's no real... weakness to this mountain, you simply have to withstand it. The information's yours if you request it."
Looking back towards the entrance, he assumed that it would be time for them to head off. Knowing that Kelranox would naturally be at full strength and in the best of health, there would be no better time for him to begin. He turned over his shoulder to look at Kelranox, then issuing a glance to the ceiling of the cavern, to suggest that it would save a lot more energy to use a rift to get straight to the mountain. Medy then made his way back towards the tunnel, planning to instead make his own way there. Walking through the dark and dank pathway, he would use the moisture to power himself up, necessary for his next action.
Upon reaching the entranceway, he stopped and sighed. Raising his hand slowly to his head, with two fingers extended, he closed his eyes and thought for a second. The response would be from a large bubble of water, encasing him and then allowing him to hover off of the ground. Steering it by use of his hydromancy, he would then make his own way to Zephyr Mountain, travelling at a high speed. He would watch as Kelranox climbed, to make sure that there was a fair climb. He would arrive pretty much as the demon did.

Kel sliced open a rift with his finger, which obviously led to the mountain, however he stood in place for a minute or two, just to grasp the entirety of the situation. After staring off into space, he glanced at the rift once more, and slowly stepped into it. Within seconds, he appeared at the bottom of the mountain, as he gazed upward at the creation..his mouth opened with awe, and his eyes refrained from blinking, surely this was the biggest slab of ice, rock and snow he had ever seen in his life. As he walked toward it, he felt as if he were going up against one of the Titans, and not once did he ever feel small...not even whilst standing near Cerby did he feel small...but this was definitely a first for him.
Kel " I can't stop here...I've got too much riding on this."
He walked toward it once more, but with a faster pace, right as he got within inches of the base, he grabbed the siding of it, feeling just how cold it was, and took several deep breaths before climbing, exhaled and reached upward with his other hand, grabbing the side, he managed to hold onto an outward protrusion of the mountain, which allowed him an easy start. As he pulled himself up, he looked around, closed his eyes and smirked.

Walking up to the base of the mountain, having stopped travelling by water ball a good hundred metres or so away from the mountain, Medy watched Kelranox on his path to begin his ascent. Crossing his arms and watching, he did his best to ignore the harsh weather conditions. Turning and walking towards Cerberus, he stopped beside the three-headed giant and looked upwards as he stared upon the mountain for the first time. Raising an eyebrow as his head continued to scan upwards, he looked towards Kelranox's pet as the clouds prevented him fro looking up any further.
"He'll be fine, don't worry."
Standing closer to Cerberus, trying to shield himself from the cold wind, he cleared his throat as he went to call out to Kelranox. He would tell him as much as he could about the easiest way to conquer this feat, although what information he had wouldn't really make that much difference. Turning to look at Cerberus, he quickly hopped onto the beast's head and walked forward so that he was balancing delicately on its nose. Calling out as clearly and loudly as he could, he shouted what advice he had.
"Try and conserve your energy, don't try and show off. You'll need it when you get higher up. There's nothing else I can really tell you."

Kel understood Medys words, he knew he shouldn't use up his energy just yet, considering the mountain drained it the higher up he went. He continually reached up, feeling around for crevices and edges, for until he'd have to use his sheer strength to pull himself up, he'd use those to conserve energy. Ultimately, the temperature wasn't as brutal as Kel expected it to be, maybe staying underground for so long had allowed him to be somewhat accustomed to cold temperatures, however it was still the bottom, and the icy mountain would sure take it's toll on Kel up above. He would just haev to force himself to never stop, for if he stopped for even the slightest second, the harsh air would cut through him, and it would be better for him to be moving, to allow him to keep his stamina. At least he knew he would be somewhat stronger as the resulting outcome of all this, if nothing else.

Walking gently back across the beast's head, Medy crossed his arms in thought as he considered what it would be like the higher that Kelranox got. The temperature at the moment as a bitter one, the wind chill was what was making it so cold, nothing to do with the normal air temperature. However, the higher that Kelranox would get, it was obvious that something would kick in. The winds would probably grow in power, doing more damage to his body and there would be a more evident cold about the mountain. As for the mountain itself, he imagined that there would be something about climbing it that made it particularly more difficult.
"They wouldn't just give him a high climb..."
As he gently slid down the neck of Cerberus, he continued to think. As Kelranox would reach the first part of the peak, where it was more snowy, surely climbing it would be almost impossible. From what he had heard, there was a great deal of snow and when the peak began, the change between rock and snow was almost instant and still at a vertical. Kel's skin would suffer, without a doubt. Slowing approaching the foot of the mountain, Medy frowned as he tried to think of anything else to help. In truth, he could do nothing but wait. If his support was needed, he would give it. He couldn't interfere, the wrath of the spirits was unknown to him, but encountering it wasn't one of his intentions.
